00:05:34.520 And some of it has to do with bravery, some of it has to do with spirit, and some of it 00:05:34.520 --> 00:05:38.680 has to do with training, and some of it has to do with just trying to stay alive for another day. 00:05:38.680 --> 00:05:43.680 And I knew a lot of guys who got these things, and they didn't get them intentionally. 00:05:43.680 --> 00:05:46.520 They didn't go out there "charge 00:05:55.640 --> 00:06:00.000 that hill" when you're 19, you go "yeah!" and you charge the hill. 00:06:00.000 --> 00:06:03.880 When you're 40 years old, and they say "charge the hill," you say "Let's talk about this 00:06:03.880 --> 00:06:07.800 hill, what it means, what the significance of it is." 00:06:07.800 --> 00:06:12.349 So a lot of it is just youthful exuberance, and most of it is which I guess when you're old 00:06:21.319 --> 00:06:24.510 and you want to tell the stories, it's a good thing to have than just being on KP Duty for 00:06:24.510 --> 00:06:26.660 that many years. 00:06:26.660 --> 00:06:29.040 But the significance of those guys that took the hits. 00:06:29.040 --> 00:06:32.000 And there's no glory in a Purple Heart, it is painful. 00:06:32.000 --> 00:06:33.240 It is horribly painful. 00:06:33.250 --> 00:06:37.319 It depends on where you get shot, and how many times you get shot, and what impact it 00:06:37.320 --> 00:06:38.360 has on your future life.
